Guwahati: At least six employees of the Assam water resources department were suspended for alleged dereliction of duty on Thursday.
Assam water resources minister Pijush Hazarika ordered the suspension of six officials.
The six suspended officials include assistant executive engineer of Dimow Sub-division Dinesh Buragohain, junior engineer of Sivasagar Water Resources division Tarun Sonowal, deputy engineer Tarun Borgohain and branch assistant Dhrubajyoti Chetia.
Meanwhile, the two lower-level officials were identified as Atul Gogoi and Manik Konwar.
