Assam: 3 IIIT-G students killed in road accident in Kamrup

In a tragic incident, three students of the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Guwahati (II IT-G), died in a road accident while they were returning from a picnic spot in Chandubi, located on the outskirts of the city.

The incident, which came to light late,occurred on Saturday night in Bholagaon, Assam's Kamrup district.

The deceased studens are -Akshit Pao and Kshitij Singh, both from Haryana, while Manan Gyanchandani is from Bhopal.

According to institute officials, two other injured students are recovering.

"The accident occurred when their four-wheeler lost control and fell into a nearby field," said a Palasbari police officer.

The deceased's family members arrived in Guwahati on Sunday, and the bodies were handed over to them after an autopsy.

According to a IIIT-G official, the students left before the campus closed at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The IIIT-G administration formed a one-member committee to investigate the matter.
