Assam: Man run over by speeding train while trying to cross tracks ‘illegally’

A man was killed in Guwahati's Azara today after he was hit by a speeding train while he was crossing tracks.

Even though the gates were locked, the individual allegedly tried to cross the crossing illegally.

Investigation into the matter is underway.

CCTV footage of the incident shows how the man attempted to cross the tracks even though the train was approaching.

The Ranigate crossing of Azara was identified as the incident site.

He was hit by the train Dibrugarh Weekly Express (no 13282).

The unidentified man attempted to cross the level crossing unlawfully, and train number 13282 ran over him, according to the CPRO of NF Railway.
