Guwahati: Police seized fake gold items, 2 held

Guwahati: Assam police seized fake gold and arrested two people in this connection on Thursday in North Guwahati.

Based on specific inputs, Kamrup police launched an operation in North Guwahati and seized a small boat, and four small Jesus statues, all made of fake gold. The seized items weighed around two kilograms, officials informed.

During the search operation, police intercepted a car and as a result, the fake gold items were found.

Meanwhile, police arrested two individuals in connection with the matter on charges of smuggling and selling fake gold.
