Us-based Indian diaspora wins: Diwali holiday announced in New York school

Washington : Big win for the Indian diaspora in the US. Schools will also be closed in New York City in the US from now on the day of Diwali, the festival of lights. New York Mayor Eric Adams made the announcement.

Thousands of people living in New York, including India, celebrate Diwali. Recently, US lawmakers approved the adoption of Diwali as a holiday in schools in the country. New York City Mayor Eric Adams called it a major win for people of Indian origin.
