40th Annual Conference of Barohalia Moina Parijat concludes

Tezpur: The three days 40th Annual Conference of the Barohalia branch of Moina Parijat concluded with a spirited valedictory session held at Rangmahal Bibah Bhawan here on Wednesday echoing the guiding motto “Ami Pohar Bichari Jao (We Seek the Light).” The three-day event, which commenced on July 11, paid heartfelt tributes to Koka Mahadev Sarma, Trailokya Nath Sarma, and Aita Nalini Bala Devi, the founding figures of the Moina Parijat movement. Moina Dharitri Sharma of Jyoti-Bishnu Moina Parijat presided over the concluding session which enlivened with children's performances, speeches, and tributes while Arunima Sarma, secretary of Barohalia Moina Parijat, welcomed the gathering and presented the annual report. A notable performance of the event was the soul-stirring group rendition of Khagen Mahanta’s evergreen song “Maa ami Sadiyaloi jamei” by the group of children which deeply moved the audience. The keynote address, delivered by Gaurabjyoti Nath from Kanyapur Moina Parijat eloquently traced the historical journey of the Sadou Asom Moina Parijat and emphasized its enduring role in nurturing children into responsible citizens. Attending as distinguished guest president of Akanir Sahitya Sabha Pankaj Baruah highlighted the institution’s foundational ideals and its continued relevance since its inception in 1954. He expressed concern over the growing mechanical lifestyle among children and praised the enduring efforts of parents who support their children's participation in Moina Parijat. The session also featured a range of captivating performances which included a Borgeet by Moina Aruchi Bhattacharya, creative and traditional dance presentations by Aditi Bora, Dhritik Kumar Prasad, Aruchi Bhattacharya, Dikshita Shivam, Adrika Bhattacharya, and Adrika Baruah. The hall resonated with the confident voices of young Moinas like Archita Barthakur, Rehanchi Goswami, Parikhit Das, and Kabyangshi Deka. Sonitpur Moina Parijat President Prabin Gogoi, Assistant Secretary Nilima Bezbaruah, Vice President Niru Neog Bora, author Dilip Kumar Baruah, and dance exponent Ruby Bora Bordoloi also briefly addressed the gathering with their inspirational speech. Barohalia Moina Parijat President Madhuchanda Padmapati, Vice President Amarendra Sharma, Executive President Sonali Bhagawati, noted social worker Anjali Kalita, eminent dance artist Ruby Bora Bordoloi, and assistant secretaries Anima Bora and Rupjyoti Sharma also graced the occasion as distinguished guests. A major attraction of the cultural evening was the children’s play “Bonkunwari”, written and directed by Dilip Kumar Baruah and co-directed by Reena Borthakur, which received wide acclaim.Awards and certificates were distributed to winners of various competitions held throughout the conference. The activities included drawing, recitation, extempore speech, and cultural contests, traditional games and sports.
