NFR Permanently Adds Coaches to Three Trains from July 1

Guwahati: In a major move to enhance passenger comfort, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has permanently augmented three key train services and extended the temporary augmentation of another, effective July 1.


The New Jalpaiguri–Howrah Shatabdi Express and the Guwahati–Jorhat Town Jan Shatabdi Express, both running six days a week, will now include one Vistadome coach each to enrich the travel experience. The Shatabdi Express will run with 15 coaches and the Jan Shatabdi with 16. Additionally, the Alipurduar–Silghat Town Rajya Rani Express, a tri-weekly service, has been permanently augmented with one AC 3-tier coach, raising its total to 12 coaches.


Meanwhile, the Katihar–Patna Intercity Express will continue to run with an extra AC 3-tier economy coach on nominated days until June 30, 2026. These enhancements reflect NFR’s commitment to providing safer, more scenic, and comfortable journeys for its passengers.
