World Sickle Cell Day observed at Dolhaat

North Lakhimpur: As a part of Janajatiya Gaurav Varsh, the World Sickle Cell Day observed by the Lakhimpur district administration and in association with Lakhimpur district Health Department at Dolhaat Tea Garden Hospital on June 19 last. The Day's programme was started in the august presence of Lakhimpur ADC Kokila Gogoi. In the programme, Joint Health Director of Lakhimpur District Health Department Dr. Biman Sarma, Superintendent of Lakhimpur Medical College Dr. Raktim Borgohain,SDMO(HO) Dr. Queen Baruah,SDMO of Nowboicha BPH Dr. Parimal Das, Manager of Dolhaat Tea Estate, MO of Dolhaat Tea Garden Hospital Dr. Afrin Sobhana, officers and employees of District Agriculture Department, Superintendent and officers and employees of District Food and Supply Department, social workers and all the employees of Dolhaat Tea Garden Hospital were present. All the speakers of the event lectured on the awareness of Sickle Cell disease. Notably, the World Sickle Cell Day was also observed at 203 Health Centres approximately under six Block Primary Hospitals of Lakhimpur district on the same day.
