Netflix’s ‘Adolescence’ wins Gotham TV Awards 2025

Mumbai: The 2nd annual Gotham TV Awards concluded Monday night at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City, spotlighting the year’s most compelling television as the small-screen awards season gains momentum. Netflix’s “Adolescence” emerged as the night’s biggest winner, sweeping all its nominated categories. The series notably shared the Supporting Performance award, with Owen Cooper tying with Jenny Slate, who was recognized for her role in FX/Hulu’s “Dying for Sex.” Several other shows earned recognition for their standout storytelling and performances. HBO/Max’s “The Pitt” won Breakout Drama Series, while Kathy Bates took home the Lead Performance in a Drama award for her role in CBS’s “Matlock.” Apple TV+ comedy “The Studio” claimed the Breakthrough Comedy Series title. A new category this year, Outstanding Original Film, Broadcast or Streaming, was introduced and won by HBO/Max’s poignant documentary “Pee-wee as Himself.” The ceremony also featured special tribute honors. Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, the creative minds behind The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and Hwang Dong-hyuk, the director of Squid Game, received the prestigious Creator Tribute. In a historic moment, Elisabeth Moss and the cast of The Handmaid’s Tale were honored with the first-ever Ensemble Tribute, celebrating their collective impact on television.
