New Delhi: Shikhar Dhawan, one of India’s most celebrated white-ball cricketers, has announced the release of his debut autobiography titled “The One”, marking a new chapter in his post-cricket life. The announcement, made via a heartfelt Instagram reel, comes shortly after his formal retirement from all forms of Indian cricket.

“Not every win makes it to the highlights. Not every loss shows on the scoreboard. ‘The One’ is the story of all the in-betweens. Of learning, unlearning, and showing up, every single time. This one’s from the heart,” Dhawan shared in his post, which quickly went viral among fans and cricket enthusiasts.

Best known for his flamboyant batting style, iconic moustache twirl, and match-winning performances in ICC tournaments, Dhawan’s autobiography is expected to delve into the unseen and unsaid—offering a glimpse into the inner battles that shaped his illustrious career. Rather than focusing solely on stats and scorecards, the book will explore his journey through injuries, slumps in form, personal setbacks, and the resilience required to keep bouncing back.

Born and raised in Delhi, Dhawan rose through the ranks of domestic cricket with dreams of donning the Indian jersey. He went on to become a cornerstone of India’s white-ball cricket setup for over a decade. He retires with an impressive international record—6,793 runs in 167 ODIs at an average of 44.1, 2,315 runs in 34 Test matches, and 1,759 runs in 68 T20 Internationals.

“The One” is expected to chronicle not only his cricketing milestones but also his leadership stints, including captaining India’s limited-overs side during transitional phases. The book will also explore his evolution off the field—his personal growth, emotional challenges, and the life lessons learned along the way.

While Dhawan’s legacy as a player is already etched in Indian cricket history—with numerous match-defining knocks and iconic opening partnerships—his debut book aims to reveal the man behind the numbers. In his own words, he now hopes to leave behind something “more enduring than just numbers—his story.”

The release date of “The One” is expected to be announced soon, with pre-orders likely to begin in the coming weeks.
