Gossaigaon: With the upcoming Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections drawing nearer, political activities in the region have intensified. In this context, the Gossaigaon District Committee of the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) organized a public interaction meeting in Bhomorabil under the 3 No—Srirampur BTC constituency. The meeting was attended by residents from various villages in the area, who expressed their trust and expectations in the AIUDF. The primary objective of the gathering was to strengthen the party's organizational foundation and to begin groundwork for the upcoming elections. AIUDF’s Central Youth Wing Secretary, Selim Sheikh, who was present at the meeting, stated, “The encouraging response from the people of Srirampur has infused new energy into our party. We are committed to listening to the public’s grievances and will work to resolve them through appropriate party channels.” Also present at the meeting were AIUDF Gossaigaon District Committee Vice President Kadam Ali and several other party workers and leaders. Discussions during the meeting focused on party strategies, local issues, and possible solutions. Meanwhile, it has been learned that several potential candidates have already begun approaching the party’s top leadership seeking tickets to contest in the upcoming BTC elections. It is expected that a strong list of candidates will be finalized before the polls. Notably, in the last BTC election, Congress candidate Sajal Singh, who was backed by AIUDF, had won from the Srirampur constituency. However, he later joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This time, the AIUDF has resolved to contest the seat with its candidate, aiming to consolidate its grassroots support and emerge stronger in the region.
