Critical surgery done by Composite Hospital SSB

Biswanath Chariali: A four year old girl studying in SSB. Pre Primary School, Miss Komol Thakur daughter of one Roshan Thakur resident of Ghoroimari has reported to Composite Hospital SSB, Salonibari on today with a complete crush injury right hand middle finger while playing in the School. The finger got trapped in the door buckle while playing. On reaching the emergency of Composite SSB, Salonibari immediate treatment was started by controlling bleeding, pressure bandaging and IV antibiotics & analgesics. After stabilizing the bleeding prompt x-ray was done to assess the extent of bone damage. The x-ray revealed the complete displacement & fracture of terminal phalanx & crush injury of soft tissues with complete exposure of bone, avulsion of nail bed. She was immediately taken to OT & under short GA fractured part was stabilized & fixed. It is always a big challenge to anaesthetise & operate a 4yrs, small child. She is now stable & recovering well, stated a press release by Composite Hospital SSB, Salonibari, Tezpur.
