Dibrugarh: 'In a refreshing take on student potential, a workshop held at DHSK College (Autonomous) emphasized the often-overlooked creativity and capability of classroom backbenchers. Kamal Jyoti Gogoi, the resource person for the session, highlighted that backbenchers too can excel in careers such as TV anchoring, news editing, or law, if provided the right guidance and training. The workshop was jointly organized by the college’s Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), ICGPC, and Internship Cell, in collaboration with the University Relationship Cell of AMTRON. In his address, Gogoi stressed the importance of practical training alongside classroom learning, stating, “If we give practical training to the students parallel to classroom teachings, they will move forward in their lives.” The event was moderated by Dr. Anisha Dutta, while Principal Dr. Sashi Kanta Saikia delivered the welcome speech, underlining the critical need for practical exposure in education and commending AMTRON’s involvement. Ahiya Hussain, Additional Manager, and Lochan Bora, Coordinator from AMTRON, shared insightful perspectives on bridging the gap between theoretical and hands-on learning. The workshop saw enthusiastic participation from Vice Principal Abhijit Barua, Dr. Dipankoj Gogoi (IQAC Coordinator), Dr. Uttam Mohan (Academic Coordinator), and several faculty members from DHSK College and nearby institutions. Representatives from Tingkhong College, Duliajan Women’s College, DDR College, Khowang College, Tengakhat College, Pithubar College, and Dibru College also attended the session. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sudarshana Bora, Joint Assistant Coordinator, ICGPC.
