Nalbari: In a jaw-dropping display of talent and power hitting, 13-year-old Janmoy Rajbongshi from Nalbari, Assam, has stunned the cricketing world by scoring an astonishing 430 runs off just 141 balls in a club-level Under-13 match. The prodigious innings, packed with 42 sixes and 31 fours, came during the 1st Bipul Bharali CCD Challengers U-13 Cricket Tournament held at the Deochotal Ground near Deepor Beel in Guwahati. Representing Nalbari Gordon Cricket Academy, Janmoy walked in at a crucial stage when his team was reeling at 130/4. What followed was nothing short of a spectacle. He raced to his century in just 31 balls, reached 200 in 66, touched 300 in 98, and crossed the 400-run mark in a mere 131 balls—rewriting all records in the process. Thanks to his breathtaking knock, his team posted a mammoth 567 runs in just 35 overs.

The opposition, Rhineland Club from Guwahati, crumbled under the sheer weight of the total and the psychological pressure of Janmoy’s blitzkrieg. They were bowled out for a paltry 36 runs in just 9 overs, with none of their batters reaching double digits. In a chaotic collapse, six players were run out.

Hailing from Alliya (Bongaon) village in Nalbari district, Janmoy is the younger son of Niranjan Rajbongshi and Madhavi Rajbongshi. A Class 7 student at Bapuji Primary School, Nalbari, he is currently being trained under the guidance of coaches Maheshwar Haloi and Manoj Kumar Bayan of Barpeta.

As Assam beams with pride over Riyan Parag’s recent elevation to the Indian national team, Janmoy’s heroic innings has added a fresh wave of excitement. Social media platforms have been flooded with messages of admiration and hope for the budding cricketer, with many calling him a future star in the making.

Beyond the numbers, Janmoy’s knock is a testament to the untapped cricketing talent in Assam’s rural heartlands. With the right support and continued nurturing, Janmoy Rajbongshi could well be on the path to becoming the next big name in Indian cricket.
