Luxmi Tea Organises Health Awareness Camp at Adabari Tea Estate

Tezpur: Marking the Anti-Malaria Month, Luxmi Tea Company Private Limited conducted a health awareness camp at its Adabari Tea Estate in Rangapara area in Sonitpur district on June 18. The camp, organized at Line No. 1 of the New Adabari Division with special focus on the prevention of vector-borne diseases such as Malaria, Dengue, Japanese Encephalitis, and related health risks due to insecticide exposure, aiming at strengthening awareness and early diagnosis within the tea estate’s population was participated by approximately 82 individuals from the local community. Talking to this end Amitava Mitra, Manager of Adabari Tea Estate emphasized the importance of such programs and said that many often overlook early symptoms like fever or headaches. “Our aim through this camp is to empower the community with the knowledge needed to identify symptoms early, take preventive action, and seek timely treatment.’ He said. The programme was conducted in collaboration with the Malaria Inspector (MI) team from Balipara Primary Health Centre supported by Deep Saikia (Malaria Inspector), Probin Patangia (Surveillance Inspector), and Puja Doley, along with active participation from the estate’s management and residents. The MI team highlighted key preventive practices and symptoms of vector-borne diseases such as high fever, fatigue, vomiting, diarrhoea, and joint pain. They urged residents to report symptoms promptly to health authorities or nearby medical centers. During the programme among other issues ITBN Treatment, Blood Test, Drain spraying awareness, information dissemination etc. were prioritised while as part of the larger effort, the garden management also reinforced the importance of maintaining personal hygiene and cleanliness to curb the spread of infections. “From bed nets to blood tests, every small step really does matter. Camps like this help us understand how to protect our families. Awareness today means protection for tomorrow. We all have to fight these diseases together,” said Luxmi Tea Organises Health Awareness Camp at Adabari Tea Estate, mentioning the next health awareness camp in the area would be held on June 23.
