Maroi-Bijulibari Ceremony Honours Students, Promotes Assamese Culture

Tezpur: In a heartwarming celebration of academic brilliance and cultural unity, the Maroi-Bijulibari branch of Asam Sahitya Sabha on Sunday felicitated meritorious students who excelled in the recent HSLC and Higher Secondary examinations. The event was held at the auditorium of Maroi Higher Secondary School and was graced by Principal Secretary of Asam Sahitya Sabha, Debojit Bora, as Chief Guest. In his address, Bora emphasized that "Asam Sahitya Sabha is a platform where people, regardless of caste, creed, religion, or political ideology, can work collectively for the cause of Assamese language and culture." Urging the students to strive not only for academic success but also for the preservation of Assamese identity, he added, “Today’s felicitation is not an achievement — it is an inspiration. The true success will be measured by the role you play in uplifting the Assamese language and culture in the future.” The event witnessed insightful speeches from special guests including Dr. Rajiv Dey (Assam University), Mrinal Kumar Rajbangshi, Dhiraj Bora, Haren Kalita, Sahajamal Haque, Chandi Charan Choudhury, and Dipika Das. All encouraged the students to become assets to society. Artistes Harij Ali, Mahrum Ali, Manashi Baruah, and Rifa Tabassum added charm to the occasion with soul-stirring performances. Branch president M. Hafiz Ali presided over the programme, conducted by secretary Biju Phukan Baruah. The presence of several dignitaries and community leaders added to the event’s significance. Fifteen students were felicitated, including Bipasha Baruah, Chakil Ahmed, Najis Ahmed, and Mrinmoy Kalita, for their academic excellence.
