Meritorious students felicitated in Tinisuti

Biswanath Chariali: The 18th edition of the felicitation programme convened by the Kumud Sarma Memorial Educational Trust was held at Srimanta Sankarguru Jatiya Vidyalaya, Titisuti on the northern part of Biswanath Chariali with Nagen Kro, president of Kumud Sarma Memorial Educational Trust in the chair recently. The day-long programme began with the illumination of a ceremonial lamp in front of the portrait of late Kumud Sarma by the president and dignitaries. Chandan Bhuyan, principal of DIET, Sonitpur graced the programme as a chief guest. Addressing the session, principal Bhuyan briefly stated about the wide perspective of the NEP 2020 and asked the students to go forward accepting the challenges that brought the new technology. Anjan Baskota, recipient of the Sahitya Akademi’s Yuva Puraskar attended the event as an appointed speaker who asked the students to develop a habit of reading books. He also asked the students to live in a positive atmosphere and inculcate creative thinking to keep our surrounding environment healthy. Jadab Timsina, secretary of Kumud Sarma Memorial Educational Trust explained the objectives of the meeting and read out the annual report of the trust. Earlier to this, Bhimlal Sarma, a retired teacher inaugurated the session. The meeting was addressed by Bipul Bora, an assistant teacher of the area and Nabin Sarma, member of the trust. The event was attended by Hari Sarma, Bhabani Sarma, Nara Bahadur Chetry, Manoj Hazarika, Dipak Sarma, Dipak Limbu along with other dignitaries. A total of fifty meritorious students who have passed the recently declared HSLC and HS examination with flying colours from the greater Tinisuti area were felicitated by the Kumud Sarma Memorial Educational Trust with gamosa, citation, a packet of books, cash amount along with other meritorious students who brought laurels to the area.
