Ministers Ranjit Dass and Keshab Mahanta reviews govt schemes at Nagaon

Nagaon: The Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development, Tourism, etc, Ranjit Kumar Dass, attended a review meeting at the Commissioner’s Office in Nagaon this evening here. The meeting was held to review the progress of various departments, including Panchayat and Rural Development, Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission, and Tourism. During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the current status of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) scheme in each development block of the district. He directed the Block Development Officers to complete the construction work by October 10 through discussions with local MLAs, Panchayat Secretaries, and Panchayat Presidents. The Minister also reviewed the MGNREGA scheme and suggested that the Anganwadi centers be developed under the scheme. He reviewed the progress of the Amrit Sarovar scheme and the district-level and block-level schemes. The Minister directed the departmental officials to expedite the completion of pending work under various schemes of Tourism and Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission. The meeting was attended by the District Commissioner, Debashish Sarma, MLAs Rupak Sarma and Shashi Kanta Das, and other officials from various departments. The Minister of Revenue and Disaster Management, Keshab Mahanta, also attended the meeting and emphasized the importance of creative and innovative work in each development block. He urged the Block Development Officers to work closely with the newly elected village panchayats and set an example through their work, an official press note added here.
