Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan flagged off in Biswanath

Biswanath Chariali: In connection with Observation of International Day against Drug Abuse and illicit Trafficking, the District Commissioner, Biswanath officially flagged off a NMBA Awareness Vehicle for public awareness campaign aimed at educating communities, especially the youth, about the dangers of drug abuse through outreach activities at Community level, stated a press release. Addressing the gathering, Munindra Nath Nagatey, the District Commissioner, Biswanath emphasized the critical role of collective action in eradicating the menace of substance abuse. “The Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan is not just a government initiative—it is a people's movement.” The event was attended by Addl.District Commissioners, Executive Magistrates, District Social Welfare Officer,Child Development Project Officer, Biswanath ICDS and officials from both District Administration and O/O DSWO, Biswanath. The awareness vehicle visited Dhulie, Nihang Chang, Balichang and Pavoi villages under Sakomatha Block to raise awareness through Information Education Communication (IEC),2 nos .of Nukkad Natak against Drug Abuse and distribution of Helpline no. 14446 leaflets at Community level were carried out at mentioned villages.The outreach activities are set to run till 26th June 2025, reinforcing the core message of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan —“Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life.”
