National Seminar on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel organised at L.T.K. College

North Lakhimpur: The two-day Rashtriya Ekta (National Unity) Seminar on “Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, National Integration and the Unification of Bharat” was successfully organized by the Department of Political Science and IQAC of L.T.K. College, Azad, North Lakhimpur, Assam, in collaboration with the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi, on June 27 & 28. The seminar was part of a special ICSSR initiative to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Known as the Iron Man of India, Patel played a historic role in unifying over 560 princely states into the Indian Union, fostering national integration across cultural, linguistic, and regional diversities. The ICSSR aims to promote the spirit of national unity and citizenship through such seminars, highlighting the importance of inclusive development. The event began with a welcome address by Dr. Bubul Kr. Saikia, Principal and Chairperson of the Seminar, followed by Dr. Amiya Rajbongshi, President, Governing Body, L.T.K. College. The seminar was formally inaugurated by Prof. Jiten Hazarika, Vice Chancellor of Dibrugarh University. The Keynote Address was delivered by Prof. Rajib Handique, Academic Registrar of Gauhati University. Dr. Limpon Bora, Academic Registrar of Madhabdev University, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Distinguished Resource Persons included Prof. Rubul Patgiri (Gauhati University), Dr. Gautam Chakma (Tripura University), Dr. Borun Dey (Dibrugarh University), and Chuchengfa Gogoi (North Lakhimpur University). The seminar featured four technical sessions with over 40 paper presentations by faculty members, research scholars, and students from across India. The sessions were chaired by eminent personalities—Dr. Mukunda Rajbongshi, Retd. Principal of Lakhimpur Girls’ College; Gopal Krishna Bora, Retd. Vice Principal of Panigaon OPD College; Bahrul Islam, Retd. Vice Principal, L.T.K. College; and Dr. Swapna Dutta, Associate Professor and Vice Principal, L.T.K. College. The Organizing Committee included Prafulla Nath (Organizing Secretary), Dr. Himajyoti Doley (Convenor), and Joint Convenor Biju Kr. Sonowal and Manash Protim Borah. Dibyajyoti Nath (TTN College) and Tarun Changmai (Laluk College) served as Rapporteurs. The L.T.K.
