Margherita: In a late-night operation on Tuesday, June 17, a joint team from Margherita Police Station and Ledo Police Outpost seized 5.1 grams of suspected prohibited narcotics during a targeted raid in Rodgaon, Ledo.

The operation, based on specific intelligence, was led by Officer-in-Charge of Margherita Police Station Protap Gogoi and In-Charge of Ledo Police Outpost Jyotish Phukan. The team conducted a swift raid and recovered the contraband from the area.

The prime suspect, identified as Tinku, allegedly a local drug supplier, managed to escape and is currently absconding. Police have launched a manhunt to apprehend him.

Local residents welcomed the police action but raised concerns over the increasing threat of drug abuse in the 83rd Margherita constituency. “The future of our youth is at risk. We hope the Margherita Police and Co-District Administration will continue and intensify their efforts to eradicate this menace,” said a Ledo resident.

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to cracking down on the drug network and ensuring the safety of the community.
