RGU launches integrated BA and BSc programs with Civil Services coaching
Guwahati: In a landmark initiative to empower students across Northeast India, Assam Royal Global University (RGU) has launched Integrated Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (BSc) programs with built-in coaching for civil services examinations. The new academic offerings will be delivered in collaboration with OnCampus and the acclaimed SPM IAS Academy, commencing from the 2025–26 academic session. Designed to simultaneously offer academic depth and competitive exam preparation, the integrated programs aim to groom students for UPSC, APSC, and other government service examinations. The initiative was formally announced during a press meet at RGU. Dr. AK Pansari, Chancellor of RGU, stated, “This integrated program reflects our commitment to nurturing leaders equipped with both knowledge and the integrity to serve the nation.” Prof. (Dr.) AK Buragohain, Chairman, Academic, RGU, added, “These programs seamlessly blend rigorous academic study with specialized civil services coaching, giving students a distinct advantage.” Utpal Kanta, CEO of OnCampus, emphasized the role of digital innovation and mentorship, saying, “We’re proud to provide access to world-class learning tools and career guidance through this visionary collaboration.” SPM IAS Academy, known for its outstanding results—75.48% success in APSC 2022 and 82.55% in 2023—will offer expert-led sessions, regular mock tests, personalized mentorship, and skill development workshops. “We are committed to making quality coaching accessible to youth in the region,” said Director Satyajit Kumar. The BA streams include Sociology, Political Science, History, Economics, English, and more, while BSc options span Physics, Chemistry, Geography, and other core sciences. Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Diganta Munshi noted that each program is tailored to integrate civil services preparation alongside the academic curriculum. This initiative marks a significant stride toward academic and professional empowerment in the region.
