Two minors drawn in Sootea

Biswanath Chariali: Sensations continue to prevail in and around Chandra Bheti in the southern part of Sootea when the news of drowning to two minors reached the masses this afternoon. According to information, two cousins Ajay Mandal (15 years) and Bipul Mandal (17 years) died this afternoon due to drowning in a village pond at Chandra Bheti village. Ajay Mandal jumped into the pond to get rid of the scorching sun and entered into the depth. Seeing him drowning, Bipul Mandal who was watching him jumped into the pond to rescue him. But the duo drowned in the pond. Local residents jumped into the pond to rescue both of them. The local residents managed to find the body of Bipul Mandal and immediately took him to Biswanath Chariali district hospital in association with a team of Sootea police but he was declared dead. On the other hand, the local residents managed to recover the dead body of Ajay Mandal. Later on, both the bodies were sent for autopsy.
