10 Years of 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan': Director Kabir Khan become emotional

Mumbai: It’s been a decade since Bajrangi Bhaijaan captured hearts across the globe, and to mark the film’s 10-year anniversary, director Kabir Khan took to social media to share an emotional tribute and rare behind-the-scenes photos from the film’s iconic shoot.
“Happy Bajrangi Day! It is hard to believe it has been 10 years since Bajrangi Bhaijaan first found its way into people’s hearts,” Kabir wrote in his caption. “Over the last decade, I have been overwhelmed by the love this film continues to receive worldwide. We set out to tell a story of love and hope in a world that sometimes forgets these emotions.”
The director reflected on how the film still resonates with audiences. “To this day, I meet people who tell me how this film makes them laugh and cry every time they watch it. That, to me, is the real reward—knowing that Bajrangi did not just entertain, it healed.”
The post quickly went viral, sparking an outpouring of love from fans and renewed calls for a sequel. Comments like “Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 release kar do yaar Kabir Khan sir” flooded the thread.
Fueling the excitement, Kabir Khan recently confirmed to Pinkvilla that discussions for Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 are underway. “We have definitely spoken about it. We want to be careful—not just make a sequel for the sake of it,” he stated.
Released in 2015, the film starred Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Harshaali Malhotra. With its message of humanity beyond borders, Bajrangi Bhaijaan became both a critical darling and a box office triumph, etching its place as one of Indian cinema’s most beloved films.
