Ajay Devgn called Kajol ‘Lucky’

Mumbai: Bollywood star Kajol is all set to return to the big screen with her upcoming horror-thriller Maa, directed by Vishal Furia. Backed by her husband Ajay Devgn’s production banner, the film is slated to release in theatres on June 27 and marks Kajol’s debut in the horror genre.In the run-up to the release, Kajol has been busy promoting the film and offering glimpses into both her personal and professional life. Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, she recalled a candid moment with Ajay Devgn, who remarked that she was “lucky” to balance multiple responsibilities so effortlessly. In a separate interaction with a news agency, Kajol shed light on her working experience with Ajay as a producer. She praised his meticulous involvement in every stage of the film’s development—from script selection to music and visual effects. “He (Ajay) is a very hands-on producer. From script to music and VFX, he has given a lot of attention to every part of this film,” Kajol said. She highlighted that Maa relies heavily on VFX, adding, “Shooting VFX is a different game… and he’s been deeply involved in getting the details right.” Reflecting on her own journey into the horror genre, Kajol shared, “I had never thought I would do a horror film, but here we are. The script is quite good, and I’m a big mythological buff. So this became one of my favourite stories.” Maa also stars Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, and Surjyasikha Das. The film is jointly produced by Devgn Films and Jio Studios and is one of the most anticipated theatrical releases this June.
