Guwahati:The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) announced the Higher Secondary (HS) examination results for 2025 today, covering all major academic streams — Arts, Science, Commerce, and Vocational. This year, female students outshone their male counterparts with an impressive overall pass percentage of 82.95%, compared to 78.42% recorded among male students.More than 3 lakh students received their results, with the Science stream achieving the highest overall pass percentage at approximately 85%. The Science stream also reported notable academic excellence, with 25,827 students securing first division out of the 48,309 who passed.The Arts stream, which had the highest number of examinees with 226,756 candidates, saw 183,745 students clearing the exams. Out of these, 49,577 students earned first division marks, reflecting strong performance despite the stream’s large size.In the Commerce stream, 14,584 students successfully cleared the exams, and 6,519 achieved first division marks, indicating a consistent level of academic achievement. Meanwhile, in the Vocational stream, 824 students passed the exams, with 60 students securing top division results.This year’s results highlight a positive trend in female academic performance across all streams. Education officials attributed this success to increased awareness around girls’ education, better support mechanisms in schools, and focused government initiatives aimed at encouraging female participation in academics.The ASSEB expressed satisfaction with the overall performance of students and credited both teachers and guardians for their unwavering support during a challenging academic year. The board also highlighted efforts to improve examination infrastructure and evaluation standards to ensure fairness and transparency in result processing.The announcement marks an important milestone for thousands of students across Assam, many of whom will now prepare for college admissions and career opportunities. With girls leading the academic charge this year, the results serve as a testament to the evolving educational landscape in the state.
