Minister Paiwang Announces Key Upgrades for CHC Pfutsero

Kohima: In response to the increasing patient influx from Pfutsero and nearby villages, Nagaland’s Minister for Health and Family Welfare, P. Paiwang Konyak, has assured significant enhancements to the Community Health Centre (CHC) Pfutsero, focusing on both manpower and infrastructure improvements. The minister made this commitment during a visit to CHC Pfutsero on his return from inspecting the Phek District Hospital. Commending the tireless efforts of healthcare workers at the CHC, Minister Paiwang lauded their dedication in managing large numbers of patients daily despite operational limitations. To bolster the facility, he announced key measures including the appointment of an additional Medical Officer, procurement of essential diagnostic equipment like X-ray and ultrasound machines, construction of security fencing, and extensive repair and renovation work, which will include a new building block for expanded services. Earlier in the day, Minister Paiwang also stopped at the Integrated Ayush Hospital in Razha, Chedema, where he interacted with both staff and patients to understand their needs and concerns. Expressing appreciation to department officials and stakeholders for facilitating his statewide tour, he described the visit as “an eye-opening experience” that provided first-hand insight into ground-level healthcare challenges. He reiterated the Health Department’s commitment to continuous improvement, stressing that progress must persist despite the hurdles. The upgrades are expected to significantly enhance healthcare delivery in Pfutsero and surrounding areas, improving access and quality for the growing patient population.
