UCO Bank holds Resource, MSME, and Agri carnival in Kohima

Kohima: UCO Bank organized a Resource, MSME, and Agriculture Carnival at The Oriental Grand Hotel, Kohima, underscoring its commitment to financial inclusion and regional economic growth. The event was attended by Mr. Shashi Kant Kumar, General Manager from the bank’s Head Office in Kolkata, along with senior officials, branch managers, and local entrepreneurs. The carnival is part of a nationwide campaign aimed at supporting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and the agricultural sector with specialized financial products. These include loans designed for both new and existing clients to foster business growth and job creation. Narendra Pratap Singh, Zonal Manager, inaugurated the event, highlighting the bank’s focus on Nagaland’s socio-economic development. He shared that the Jorhat Zone sanctioned over ₹34 crore in loans to 562 beneficiaries in the first quarter of FY 2025–26. Amit Kumar, MSME Head of Jorhat Zone, introduced innovative loan schemes like UCO Contractor, UCO Trader, and UCO Nari Samman, while Deputy Zonal Head Hasan Ejaz Hashmi presented new deposit products including UCO Unique and UCO Privilege. In his keynote, Kumar praised Nagaland’s cultural preservation and reported the bank’s strong financial performance for FY 2024–25, with deposits exceeding ₹2.93 lakh crore and advances over ₹2.19 lakh crore. He urged customers to repay loans timely and highlighted the bank’s growing digital engagement. The event concluded with loan letter distributions and an interactive feedback session to improve services.
