Agartala: To mark 11 years of BJP-led governance at the Centre, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Saturday launched a public outreach campaign in Agartala, engaging directly with citizens to highlight what he described as the “transformative achievements” under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Joined by party workers, Saha began the day by distributing leaflets outlining key government initiatives and held brief interactions with locals. The campaign, part of a nationwide BJP effort, focused on reforms, welfare schemes, and the government's pro-poor Garib Kalyan initiatives. “It is a day of pride for every Indian,” said Saha, crediting PM Modi for steering the country towards peace, unity, and development. He also emphasized infrastructure growth, especially in transportation, and lauded the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A as a historic step for national integration. The event coincided with the 125th birth anniversary of Syama Prasad Mookerjee, founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh. CM Saha paid rich tributes, calling Mookerjee's sacrifice for the unity of India “historic and inspirational.” The outreach saw enthusiastic participation from party workers and residents, creating an atmosphere of political engagement and patriotic fervour.
