Arunachal Pradesh Assembly Concludes Two-Day Orientation Programme
Itanagar: The two-day orientation programme for Members of the 8th Legislative Assembly of Arunachal Pradesh concluded today with a valedictory session at Nokmey Namati Hall, marking a significant step forward in the state’s efforts to promote informed and ethical lawmaking. Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Pasang Dorjee Sona delivered the concluding address, stressing the importance of continuous learning, ethical public service, and informed decision-making in strengthening democratic governance. He lauded the programme as a vital initiative to enhance legislative capacity and effectiveness. Speaker Tesam Pongte Tutsa expressed appreciation for the enthusiastic participation of legislators and the valuable contributions made by expert resource persons from PRIDE (Parliamentary Research and Training Institute for Democracies) under the Lok Sabha Secretariat. He urged the MLAs to apply the knowledge and perspectives gained to fulfill their roles more effectively and responsibly. Deputy Speaker Kardo Nyigyor offered a heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging the instrumental support of PRIDE, the dedication of the organising team, and the active engagement of the MLAs, which collectively ensured the success of the orientation. Adding gravitas to the event, the senior-most leader and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein attended the entire programme, reflecting his strong commitment to legislative excellence and capacity building among elected representatives. The closing session also featured the felicitation of PRIDE resource persons and distribution of participation certificates to all MLAs, recognizing their dedication to legislative development. The programme concluded on a high note, reaffirming the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly’s collective resolve to function as a more informed, effective, and people-centric democratic institution in service of the state and its citizens.
