Darrang College to Mark 81st Foundation Day on July 26

Tezpur: Darrang College, Tezpur, one of North Assam’s premier educational institutions, will celebrate its 81st Foundation Day on July 26, alongside the 31st Foundation Day of the Alumni Association. The day-long celebration will include flag hoisting, a commemorative ceremony, and a cultural evening. Tezpur MLA and alumnus Prithiraj Rabha will attend as Chief Guest. Notable alumni including Pankaj Kumar Bora, Utpal Barua, and Dr. Pratibha Sharma will be felicitated, and student endowment awards will also be presented. This year’s celebration comes as Darrang College proudly marks its recent achievement of UGC-granted autonomous status. Meanwhile, the Alumni Association has announced a Grand Alumni Reunion on October 26, featuring registration, tributes, tree plantation, cultural events, and the release of a commemorative volume. A minimum registration fee of ₹1,000 has been fixed.
