'Enazori' Emphasizes Linguistic Harmony and Cultural Integration
Tezpur: "Mutual harmony is not one-sided; a balanced relationship must be established. Karbis should learn non-Karbi languages, and non-Karbis should make an effort to understand and learn the languages used in daily life by the Karbi community. Only then can true integration take place. Asam Sahitya Sabha will soon publish a book based on the historical background of the hills and mountains of Karbi Anglong.". Said Dr. Basanta Kumar Goswami, President of the Asam Sahitya Sabha, while attending the intimate cultural-literary exchange programme "Enazori" as the chief guest. The event was jointly organized by Karbi Lammet Amei (Karbi Sahitya Sabha) and Asam Sahitya Sabha at the Karbi Lammet Amei office located on the Diphu-Lumding Road. This was informed by Shankusiddha Nath, the central publicity secretary of Asam Sahitya Sabha. He further shared that in addition to Dr. Basanta Kumar Goswami, other dignitaries present at the event included Vice President Padum Rajkhowa, General Secretary Debojit Bora, former KSA President Chandrasing Kro, Padma Shri Dhaneswar Engti, Executive President of the State Language and Mother Tongue Use Subcommittee of Asam Sahitya Sabha Deben Basumatary, noted writers Ajit Singnar, Khagen Engti, and Joysing Tokbi. NThe solemn "Enazori" event, presided over by KLA President Kamsing Hansei, was coordinated by Biswajyoti Hazarika, Secretary of Asam Sahitya Sabha's Diphu Rangsina Bhawan branch. Through this intimate event, a deep exchange of ideas occurred between the literature-loving and scholarly members of both Karbi Lammet Amei and Asam Sahitya Sabha. Participating as a distinguished guest, Debojit Bora, the General Secretary of Asam Sahitya Sabha, said: “Today, the 'Enazori' event jointly organized by Karbi Sahitya Sabha and Asam Sahitya Sabha in the Karbi Hills carries a message for all ethnic groups settled across Assam. A chord of rmony is echoing across Karbi Anglong today. Asam Sahitya Sabha wishes to embrace every community to form a greater, stronger identity. For the holistic development of the Karbi language, Asam Sahitya Sabha must make efforts, and similarly, Karbi Sahitya Sabha must strive to adopt Assamese as a linking language.”He added that through this Enazori event held in Diphu, an attempt has been made to build a bridge of unity based on harmony, brotherhood, affection, and love. He also stated, “After a long struggle, the Karbi community has now gained constitutional protection. Therefore, this is not the time to look back.” The programme, organized with support from the State Language and Mother Tongue Use Subcommittee of Asam Sahitya Sabha, concluded successfully with a rendition of the Jatiya Sangeet of the state.
