New Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya comes up at Singri in Sonitpur District
Tezpur: The academic session of the newly established PM SHRI School Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Sonitpur at the model school in Singri of Sonitpur district under the National Education Policy of the Government of India is officially set to begin from April 1, 2026. This was announced on Wednesday in a press conference in Tezpur by Rajesh Kumar Verma, the acting principal of the new institution and the current principal of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Biswanath. Functioning under the Ministry of Education and Literacy, Government of India, the PM SHRI School – Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Sonitpur will provide completely free education from Class VI to Class XII. A total of 80 seats will be available for the academic session. Students currently studying in Class V and born between May 1, 2014, and July 31, 2016, are eligible to apply for the selection test. Applicants must also be enrolled in schools under the Nadiuar, Balipara, Gohpur, and Dhekiajuli educational blocks of Sonitpur district. Principal Verma further informed that the selection test is scheduled to be held on December 13, 2025, at 11 a.m. Eligible students must apply online by July 29, 2025, through the official websites: cbseitms.rcil.gov.in or www.navodaya.gov.in.
