NFR Felicitates Track Maintainer for Timely Landslide Alert
Guwahati: Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) takes pride in recognizing the exemplary vigilance and devotion displayed during the time of duty by Akshay Raj, Track Maintainer-IV, under the Senior Section Engineer/P.Way/New Harangajao of Lumding Division. On the morning of June 23, while deployed as a stationary watchman at KM 108/6-7, Akshay Raj noticed a sudden slip of muck and boulders cascading over the left retaining wall and onto the side drain adjacent to the railway track at KM 108/7-8. Realizing the imminent threat this posed to train operations, he acted with commendable promptness and responsibility. Without delay, he informed the Junior Engineer/P.Way/Jatinga Lampur and the respective gang mates of Gang No. 23 and 24, and immediately protected the affected section of the track using a banner flag, as per standard safety protocol. His timely intervention led to suitable preventive action by the Railway administration, thus potentially preventing any untoward incident. In recognition of the exemplary performance during his duty, Akshay Raj was felicitated by the General Manager of NFR, Chetan Kumar Shrivastava. Commending his commendable alertness and dedication, the General Manager described his actions as a shining example of the vital role that front-line railway personnel plays towards ensuring the safety and reliability in train operations. He noted that such swift and responsible conduct reflects the true spirit of railway service. While appreciating this act of vigilance, the General Manager also urged all railway staff and employees to remain alert and proactive during their duties, so as to prevent any untoward incidents and uphold the highest standards of passenger safety.
