Over 150 Men and Women Join BPF Party in Srirampur Constituency

Gossaigaon: As various political parties gear up for the upcoming Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) elections, the opposition party Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) held a significant election meeting recently in Matiyapara village under 3 No. Srirampur BTC constituency of the BTR. The meeting was organized by the Srirampur Block Committee of the BPF's youth wing, led by its president Sonaullah Sheikh. Addressing the gathering, Dhruba Kumar Brahma Narzary, the Central Treasurer of BPF, stated that it was the BPF that established premier higher education institutions like the Engineering College and Medical College in Kokrajhar. He also claimed that the BPF was responsible for the development of roads and bridges across the BTR. He further announced that if the BPF returns to power, the party will spend ₹100 crore annually on coaching for meritorious students. Additionally, each block will receive ₹1 crore for Self-Help Groups (SHGs). Expressing strong confidence, he asserted that BPF is certain to win in 3 No. Srirampur BTC constituency this time and that the party led by Hagrama Mohilary will once again form the government in the BTR. Speaking at the event, advocate and President of the Srirampur BPF Block, Muklesur Rahman, criticized Pramod Boro for making false promises and assured that a BPF-led government would resolve the problems of people living on forest land. He also alleged that under the current UPPL government, the tea garden of prominent local businessman Sattar Miyan was evicted in the Srirampur constituency. Other speakers at the meeting, including advocate Mafijur Rahman and BPF Central Organizational Secretary Rafiqul Islam, sharply criticized the UPPL-led government. The meeting concluded with the induction of over 150 men and women into the BPF party.
