A 15-slide presentation outlined critical preparations—deployment of personnel, ballot security, transport logistics, and strong room readiness. District Commissioner Mridul Yadav, IAS, welcomed the Commissioner and shared updates on ground-level planning. Key officials, including DIG Kankanjyoti Saikia, SEC Secretary Gitartha Baruah, and all 42 Registration Officers, attended, highlighting the emphasis on ward-level precision. Sharma stressed the importance of accurate voter rolls, urging prompt correction of anomalies and exclusion of duplicate entries. Law and order arrangements were also thoroughly discussed. The DIG assured robust security measures for polling and counting phases. The meeting reflected the Commission’s commitment to a model election, backed by close coordination between the SEC and the district administration. With strategic planning and grassroots involvement, the upcoming civic polls in Silchar aim to set new standards in electoral integrity and public trust.
