‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ Returns to Theatres on July 18
A decade after its original release, Farhan Akhtar’s iconic film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is set to make a grand return to theatres on July 18, offering audiences another chance to experience the inspiring journey of legendary athlete Milkha Singh on the big screen. Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, the critically acclaimed biopic captures the life and struggles of Milkha Singh, famously known as The Flying Sikh, who brought glory to India in the Commonwealth and Asian Games. “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is a very special film for me; it felt personal, a tribute to the indomitable spirit of a man who turned pain into purpose,” said Mehra in a statement. “Even today, the film continues to inspire, and that’s the legacy we hoped to honour.” Farhan Akhtar, who delivered a transformative performance as Milkha Singh, shared, “Portraying Milkha Singh—a man whose story is etched in the soul of our nation—was both an honour and a responsibility. I’m grateful audiences will get to experience the film again where it belongs—on the big screen.” The film also starred Sonam Kapoor, Divya Dutta, and Prakash Raj in pivotal roles. Kapoor reflected, “Watching it again is not just nostalgic—it’s a tribute to Milkha Singh Ji’s extraordinary legacy and a celebration of the timeless magic of cinema.” The re-release aims to reignite the spirit of resilience, courage, and national pride that the film continues to embody.
