“Mon Toy Na-Kandibi” Staged with Fanfare in Hojai

Hojai: A theatrical performance titled “Mon Toy Na-Kandibi” was ceremoniously staged at the drama platform of 3 No. Dahgaon village under 1 No. Kaki area in Hojai district, drawing enthusiastic participation from the local community. The event began at 7:30 PM with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting by Biswajit Chakraborty, Principal of the Assamese Medium School in Lumding, formally inaugurating the evening's cultural proceedings. Renowned social worker and respected community leader Sujit Shome graced the occasion as the chief guest. Before the performance, several local intellectuals and social workers were felicitated with traditional Assamese phulam gamocha and seleng, celebrating their contributions to society. At 8 PM, the much-anticipated play “Mon Toy Na-Kandibi” was performed by talented local artists. The play was penned by Champak Sharma, directed by Prabin Saikia, and produced under the banner of Srimanta Sankardev Krishti Vikash Kendra. The audience, comprising residents from nearby villages, enjoyed the emotionally rich performance late into the night. Concluding the event, Gajen Hazarika, General Secretary of the organizing body, extended heartfelt gratitude to all artists, guests, and supporters for making the event a grand success.
