New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has revised its travel and allowance policy, introducing a uniform per day structure for staff across departments. This move clears the way for the release of unpaid daily allowances that had been pending since January 2025.Under the new travel policy, BCCI employees on official assignments- such as the Indian Premier League (IPL), Women’s Premier League (WPL) and ICC events- will now receive a flat ₹10,000 per day while they are on the road. This replaces the earlier tiered structure, which provided ₹15,000 for short-term domestic travel and ₹10,000 for longer assignments. The earlier one-time incidental allowance of ₹7,500 has also been discontinued.A BCCI source confirmed to PTI that after tax deductions, the effective per diem comes to around ₹6,500 per day.Due to the pending policy revision, BCCI had withheld daily allowances during the IPL and WPL seasons. With the updated framework now in place, staff members across finance, operations and media departments are expected to receive their dues shortly."A clear-cut policy was needed as some staff were claiming allowances even while working from the Mumbai headquarters during tournaments. Now that the structure is defined, the pending amounts will be processed soon," the source added. For context, an employee covering the full 70-day IPL season would be entitled to ₹7 lakh in allowances. Partial travelers are eligible for 60 percent of that amount, while non-traveling staff can claim up to 40 percent. For overseas assignments, most BCCI employees receive USD 300 per day. However, honorary office-bearers- including the president, secretary, treasurer, vice-president and joint secretary- continue to receive a significantly higher daily allowance of USD 1,000.Domestically, these office-bearers are also entitled to ₹40,000 for a single-day meeting and ₹30,000 per day for multi-day work trips within India.
