PSG cruised past Atletico Madrid in FIFA Club World Cup
New Delhi: The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup saw contrasting matches on a thrilling Sunday night. French giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) put on a dominating performance against Atletico Madrid, securing a 4-0 victory at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena in front of a massive crowd of 80,619.Meanwhile, Palmeiras and FC Porto played a goalless draw in their opening encounter at MetLife Stadium, leaving both teams to share points in a game where chances went begging.PSG started their match strongly, controlling possession and pressing Atletico hard from the first whistle. On the other hand, Palmeiras and Porto struggled to break each other’s defences despite several opportunities, with the game ending in a disappointing stalemate for fans.Newly crowned European Champions made a strong start against Atletico Madrid at the Rose Bowl, dominating possession with an impressive 82.6% in the first 15 minutes. PSG capitalized as substitute Senny Mayulu scored a third with a sharp finish. Botafogo took the early lead in the first half itself. However, in the 2nd half, Christian Roldan secured a single goal at 75' for the Sounders. Jackson Ragen received a yellow card at the 11th hour at 87' of the game.
