India’s Rise vs Pakistan’s Struggles: CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Highlights Diverging National Paths

Guwahati:Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has drawn a sharp contrast between India’s economic ascent and Pakistan’s financial woes, framing the comparison as a tale of two distinctly different national trajectories. In a post on his official X handle titled “India vs Pakistan: Two Nations, Two Destinies”, Sarma underscored India’s emergence as a global powerhouse while highlighting Pakistan’s continued reliance on foreign assistance.According to Sarma, India has firmly positioned itself as a dominant player in the global landscape, with a GDP of $4.19 trillion, making it the fifth-largest economy in the world. He cited India’s success across a wide spectrum—ranging from technological innovation and digital transformation to infrastructure and space exploration.“From railways to rocket launches, India is building for the future,” the Chief Minister stated, emphasizing India's self-reliance and investment in long-term growth. He also highlighted India’s thriving startup ecosystem, strong foreign exchange reserves, and achievements in space technology, including Chandrayaan-3 and the upcoming Gaganyaan human spaceflight mission.Sarma contrasted this progress with the state of Pakistan’s economy, which he described as being in persistent crisis. With a GDP of $357 billion and forex reserves of just $15.66 billion, Pakistan continues to depend heavily on IMF bailouts, Sarma noted. He argued that this reflects a lack of economic autonomy and strategic vision. “Pakistan’s economy is built on borrowed time and borrowed money,” he remarked pointedly. He concluded the post with a powerful message: “India is no longer just a rising power—it is a ruling force in the new global order. We innovate, export, invest, and build—while others borrow, blame, and fall behind.”Sarma’s remarks come at a time when India is increasingly seen as a key global influencer, thanks to its robust economic policies, diplomatic outreach, and scientific progress. His comments further reinforce the narrative of India's steady rise on the world stage, in stark contrast to Pakistan’s ongoing economic instability.
