: An awareness programme on admissions to Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) for the 2025–2026 academic session was held at Biswanath College today. The event aimed to promote higher education opportunities through open and distance learning. KKHSOU Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajendra Prasad Das, attending as Chief Guest, emphasized the university’s mission to reach every corner of Assam and ensure educational access for all, especially those unable to attend regular institutions. He encouraged the audience to spread awareness among eligible learners. Dr. Chinta Mani Sharma, Principal of Biswanath College and Centre-in-Charge of its KKHSOU Study Centre, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the university's role in empowering youths and professionals. Prof. Pranab Saikia, Dean of KKHSOU, elaborated on academic offerings and the implementation of the Four-Year UG Programme under NEP 2020. The event saw participation from over 150 attendees, including alumni, NCC cadets, students, faculty, and prominent local figures. Birinchi Borah, Assistant Registrar (Study Centre), and Dr. Naresh Thakur, Coordinator of the Study Centre, also addressed the gathering. The programme reflected strong community engagement in promoting accessible education across Assam.
