: In a major research breakthrough, three faculty members from The Assam Royal Global University (RGU) have secured prestigious grants under the ICMR Start-up Grant Scheme 2024–25. The total sanctioned amount for the three projects exceeds ₹1 crore. Awarded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, the scheme supports induction into biomedical and health research. The recipients include Dr. Chongtham Sovachandra Singh, Dr. Anuj Kumar Borah, and Dr. Pundarikaksha Das, along with their respective co-investigators. Dr. Singh's project, “Multi-Omics Analysis of Securing Overexpression in Raw Areca Nut-driven Tumorigenesis,” has been allotted ₹45.06 lakh. Dr. Borah's research on “DLPC-Enriched Myricetin Phytosomes for Modulating Lipid Digestion” received ₹38.01 lakh. Dr. Das will explore the “Role of p53 in Post-Mortem Interval Estimation” with ₹20 lakh sanctioned. RGU Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) A.K. Buragohain lauded the researchers, calling it a proud moment and a testament to RGU's research strength. Prof. Rama Ranjan Bhattacharjee, Dean R&D, and Prof. Amlan Das, Associate Dean, also congratulated the faculty, thanking the university for its robust research ecosystem. This achievement marks a significant stride for RGU in biomedical research.
