World youth skills day celebrated in Nagaon and Hojai
Nagaon: The World youth skills day was celebrated with a day-long programme in Nagaon and Hojai districts with great enthusiasm and fervor on July 15. The theme of the day was "Empowering youth through Artificial Intelligence and Digital Skills". The celebrations were organized by Mera Yuva Bharat, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, in collaboration with Rounak Development Society and Hojai Unnayan Mancha at Doboka Higher Secondary School in Hojai and at the Ramesh Phukan Memorial High School under Pakhimoria Development Block in Nagaon respectively. The celebrations included a lecture competition, workshop, and discussion on the theme of the day. The key speakers at the events emphasized the importance of developing skills among youth to make them employable and contribute to the country's development. They also highlighted the role of artificial intelligence and digital skills in empowering youth. At the Ramesh Phukan Memorial High School, the speakers included Bijay Das, Instructor at Nagaon Industrial Training Centre, and Abdul Kalir, Headmaster of Ramesh Phukan Memorial High School and Habibul Idrish Choudhury, A.P. While at Doboka Higher Secondary School, the key speakers included Achyut Thakuria, Science Teacher, and Abdul Gani, Social Activist. The events were attended by local dignitaries, students, and youth leaders. The celebrations aimed to promote awareness about the importance of skills development among youth and to empower them to become self-reliant and contribute to the country's growth, a press note added here.
