Alia Bhatt’s Ex-Personal Assistant Arrested for Embezzling ₹76 Lakh

Mumbai: Mumbai Police has arrested Vedika Prakash Shetty, former personal assistant to actress Alia Bhatt, on charges of cheating and embezzling over ₹76 lakh from Bhatt’s production house, Eternal Sunshine Productions Pvt. Ltd.

According to police, Vedika was arrested in Bengaluru and had been handling financial matters at the company between August 2022 and 2024, during which she allegedly misappropriated funds. The case was registered following a complaint filed by Soni Bhatt at Juhu Police Station earlier this year.

She has been booked under sections 316(4) and 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for breach of trust and fraud. The investigation revealed that Vedika used her access to the company’s financial systems to siphon funds discreetly over two years.

Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt is currently busy filming her action thriller Alpha, part of Yash Raj Films’ spy universe, slated for a December 25 release. She is also working on Love and War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
