Alongwith Bar Sabah and Panitola Sabah the villagers and the Namghar management committee organised a felicitation programme in presence of Tezpur MLA Prithiraj Rabha where senior journalist and a native of the area Utpal Baruah was specially honoured with felicitation for being appointed as Assam’s Information Commissioner. This was followed by the felicitation of ten students from the village who had successfully passed their high school, higher secondary, or graduate-level exams or had excelled in cultural fields. The felicitation programme was led by village development committee president Golap Baruah and secretary Kumar Koch. It is worth mentioning that the Panitola Sabah, a women-centric traditional event held alongside the Bar Sabah, brought the Namghar premises to life with joyous participation from the Ayatis (young women devotees) were being observed every year during this Jeth-Ahaar month and most Namghars across Assam are resounding with such traditional Bar Sabah or Palnaam celebrations. As part of the rituals before sowing in the fields, villagers also organize night-long Bhaona performances that further enrich the spiritual and cultural ambiance alongwith maintaining the heritage of the village and the society.
