HSLC 2025 Results : Assam Records Sharp Decline in Class 10 Pass Percentage at 63.98%

Guwahati :The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB), earlier known as SEBA, released the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Class 10 results today at 10:30 AM. This year’s results reflect a noticeable drop in student performance, with the overall pass percentage standing at 63.98%, a significant decline from last year’s 75.7%.A total of 4,29,449 students had enrolled for the examination, out of which 4,22,737 appeared. As per official data, 6,712 students were absent, 22 results have been withheld, and 101 students were expelled due to examination malpractice.The HSLC 2025 exams were held from February 15 to March 3, with practical exams conducted on January 21 and 22.Performance Breakdown:In terms of divisions:89,041 students achieved first division,1,35,568 secured second division,45,862 passed with third division.This year's results revealed a gender gap in performance. Male students outshone their female counterparts, with a pass percentage of 67.59%, compared to 61.09% among females. Of the total examinees, 1,87,752 were boys and 2,34,985 were girls.District-Wise Highlights:Sivasagar district emerged as the top performer with an 85.55% pass rate, followed by Dibrugarh at 81.10%, and Dhemaji at 80.64%. At the other end of the spectrum, Sribhumi reported the lowest pass percentage at 47.96%, underlining the persistent regional disparities in educational outcomes across Assam.Students can access their results through the official portals — asseb.in, sebaonline.org, and resultsassam.nic.in. Digital marksheets are also available via DigiLocker. A minimum of 30% in each subject is necessary to be declared as passed.Education Minister Ranoj Pegu confirmed the declaration and urged students to cross-check their provisional results online before collecting the original marksheets from their respective schools.
